![]() Because of the wide amount of mediums available, drawing is a very accessible art form to explore. You can also draw digitally on a computer, using a touchscreen device or a mouse to draw your piece. Nowadays, there are many methods of drawing with various mediums, including pen and ink, graphite pencil, and charcoal. In fact, the first known drawings were done over 30,000 years ago. The practice of drawing goes back millennia, and is thought to have preceded written communication. Not only does it help you express yourself, but allows you to translate the ideas in your head onto paper, opening up a world of possibilities. I love teaching and I'm so happy I can continue to share my passions with those willing to try something new and challenging!ĭrawing is a great skill to learn. Again, if you are more interested in digital art, this will include painting techniques and color theory. If you are a more advanced student, we can dive into more directed areas of study including sketching, fine art, concept art, landscape work and figure drawing, all incorporating dynamic compositions and lighting to tell a story. ![]() ![]() I can also give you the tools and understanding to create your own digital brushes to use on your future art projects as well as tips and instructions on using Adobe Photoshop or Procreate for painting. If your interests are in digital art, you will learn all of the same drawing concepts of traditional drawing plus digital painting techniques and color theory. As you advance you will learn about lighting and rendering techniques, creating movement and advanced composition. You will learn the fundamentals of recognizing and drawing shapes, arranging and cropping composition and the basic structure of human figures. I teach drawing skills in any medium (this includes digital art - drawing and painting) covering any style and interest ranging from traditional still life and live model subjects to cartoon and anime. Often, I will ask to see the students progress, so that I may be able critique and give advise on their work in progress.įor short-term sessions (virtual or in-person), the teacher and student will collaborate and determine how the student will get the most out of their session(s). The student will need a workspace with lots of light. Materials needed are pencil, paper and a willingness to explore.ĭrawing lessons will be assessed based on the individual's current abilities and their goals.įor virtual sessions, the student will need to create a conducive workspace that will allow teacher/student viewing of art work in progress. The students main objective is to learn, by drawing what the individual wishes to draw (personal projects that sparks and continues the creativity within). Art is a progressive practice that takes time to develop. The artist is always in a state of learning. The most fabulous thing about being an artist is that boundaries regarding creativity are non-existent. Self expression through art is an amazing experience.
